Meet the Team Members
I am Jacob, president of New Ulm Robotics. I am a senior at New Ulm Public, and this is my sixth season of a FIRST event since my start in eighth grade. I originally joined because of my interest in science and technology, as well as being attracted to the unique challenge FIRST proposed. since then, I have enjoyed every minute of the experience and may have become just slightly addicted to the team in the process. I will be attending the University of North Dakota this fall to study mechanical engineering and unmanned aerial systems (because why settle for robots when you can have flying robots?). I thank FIRST and the team for making the last five years an incredible time.
My name is Sam and I am a senior at Cathedral High School. This is my fourth year in FRC and my fifth season with FIRST. I joined in ninth grade because of my long time interest in STEM activities, and every minute since has only increased my interest in these areas. Next year I will be attending the University of Minnesota to major in biomedical engineering to use my experience to improve medical technology.
This is my third year in the New Ulm robotics program. I’m a sophomore at Cathedral High School. This is my second year in the FRC program. I’m interested in almost anything electronic orthings involving new technologies. I’m in robotics because it gives me a chance to work with my interests and learn new skills that will assist me in my future.
I am Emma and this is my second year in robotics. I am a sophomore at Cathedral High School. I joined because my brother said that I would enjoy it. I have met so many new people and it has really made me incredibly happy. I spend my time doing Knowledge Bowl, playing golf in the summer, and at robotics. In the future I want to be either a history teacher, or an engineer.
I am Leah and this is my fourth year in robotics. I joined my freshmen year and I still enjoy it just as much. I am a senior at Cathedral High School. My friend and I heard about robotics over our announcements and decided to come and check it out. I am so thankful for all the new people I have met and the friendships I have made. I am so excited to see how this year will play out!
I joined in 2013 during the first year of FTC. It has helped me in the field of STEM. It has been a lot of fun over the years and I’ve grown in knowledge about robotics and grown close to the people who have been in it with me. I’m glad to have joined and I would recommend joining to anybody who feels interested in it.
My name is Riley Appel. I’m a senior this year at New Ulm High School. This is my 3rd year in robotics with team 3122. I joined robotics to gain real world experience with engineering and work with friends while gaining that experience. I plan to pursue a degree in either mechanical or civil engineering once I get to college.
I joined robotics after seeing the posters for it on the wall. It intrigued me greatly at the time and when I attended the sign up meeting I was hooked. I have been in FTC or FRC robotics for five years and have enjoyed every moment of it. In the future I hope to use my experience in robotics to benefit my future career in physics.
I am Thomas. This is my fourth year of robotics. I joined the New Ulm robotics team my freshman year because I wanted spend time with my friends, make high school memories, and learn about how robots work. I plan on attending the Carlson School of Management next year at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.
I joined robotics because I wanted to expand my technological horizons. I have been the new ulm robotics program for almost three years now and have enjoyed almost every second of it. My chosen career at the moment (I’m a teenager, nothing is set in stone.) is to be a wildlife biologist. I’d preferably work with land animals, though I have no problem with wetland animals either.
I am Trenten Beranek This is my first year in robotics I joined because I love technology and I want to help make it. What I plan on doing in the future is becoming a computer programmer
My name is Hannah and this is my first year in robotics. I joined robotics because of my interest in an engineering career and to get more hands on building experience. I plan to go to school for engineering or a medical profession in the future. I am very excited about this upcoming robotics season!
My name is Kellyn and I am a junior at New Ulm High School. It is my first year in robotics. I joined because I thought it would be a good experience. In the future I want to go to college to be either an engineer or a forensics analyst.
My name is Rodrigo. I joined robotics as a Freshman at NUHS in 2014. I have worked extensively to gather funding for the team and have also worked to reach out to our community of sponsors. After High School, I plan on pursuing a degree in Political Science and going to law school after that.
From an early age I really enjoyed taking things apart, but did not care about much else like how it worked or to put it back together afterwards. Now that has transformed into me wanting understand every facet of engineering and what a great place to start than FIRST. My first involvement in the FIRST ecosystem was in 2012 with the FRC game Rebound Rumble and the team 4174. I was only in 5th grade but my Dad was the mentor of the team so I would hangout sometimes after school with them. I also had a hand in building the robot for the 2013 and 2014 seasons. I had skipped the 2015 since I was in between schools at the time. The first time I was officially apart of an FRC team was in 2016 with this team The Alluminators (3122). Other than FRC I have been in the 2012 and 2013 seasons of FLL. What I hope to accomplish after High School is to get a degree in either Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering.
I joined robotics because I have always liked doing hands on work, learning new things, and having great experiences. I also joined because I really like being a part of a team, and I figured that robotics would be a great place to find all of that. I have been in the robotics program for 2 years not counting this year otherwise 3. What I want to do in my future is either be a Robotics Engineer or a Game Programmer/Designer so I will definitely be going to college once I graduate high school.
My name is Bennett. This is my first year in FRC. I joined FRC to make use of my free time so I wouldn’t be constantly bored. I wish to go into science, mainly any field under the category of life science, but specifically microbiology.
I joined because I had a team member talk about all the fun he had and I was interested enough to give it a try. I’m super happy I joined because this has been the closest team I’ve ever been a part of. it’s my 2nd year on the team. Next year I plan on going to Winona State to study in the field of instrumental music. I hope my future will involve playing as well as directing music
My name is Nori, and this is my first year in Robotics. I am a junior at New Ulm High School and am also in Knowledge Bowl, Soccer, and JOI. I decided to join Robotics because it seemed interesting, robots are cool, and I thought it was a good chance to meet new people and learn a lot. As of right now, I plan on pursuing a career in the medical field or possibly engineering. I am really looking forward to the upcoming season.
I joined for the sake of curiosity and also i have been very fond of robots, programming, and just making things for my entire life. I was in FTC last year. I plan on trying to program or lean to in the near future and help on building and designing the robot.
This is my first year in robotics. I am a sophomore at New Ulm Public. I joined robotics to learn more about the programming that goes into the robots and the process of building the robot and designing it. In the future I hope to get an understanding of programming to hopefully help me pursue a career in the field.
